Parents and families play a large role in our students’ education and their success. In Advising & Student Transitions, our academic advisors work to support students through their choice of a major, choosing courses each term, and teaching them the skills they’ll need to successfully navigate the university system.
We encourage students to meet with their advisors at least twice a semester. The first appointment is typically a 'getting to know you' session, and a check-in on how first semester classes are going. The second appointment usually focuses more directly on choosing appropriate courses for the next semester. But our advisors do much more than just help you pick classes.

Our advisors average more than 10 years of experience working directly with students and love what they do. There are some parameters that prevent us from sharing all of their information with you, the families, including those outlined in the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
